Kelley gets an introduction to Igigi

You’ve certainly heard of Gracie Designs, the Etsy superstar. We were fortunate to have an exclusive Gracie Designs trunk show at Weetacon this year, and got first dibs on the adorable accessories, purses and hats (it’s actually a game to go through the Weetacon Flickr Pool and play “Spot the Gracie Designs Accessory” because practically everyone nabbed a hat, purse, scarf or all of the above).  Kelley, the lady behind Gracie’s amazing patterns, just happened to be a perfect fit for an extra dress that didn’t have a home, and was gracious enough to review it for us!

Igigi’s Tres Chic in Plum

I love Igigi’s Tres Chic in Plum for several reasons.  The first is that is makes me feel fancy!  I love the color, this deep plum/eggplant is just perfect for fall and winter, and you can brighten it up with cute accessories and make it work in the summer too.  I work a lot of boutique events and this is great for looking good and feeling comfortable.  The knit material has a nice feel, and is quite thick, so it clings enough, but not too much.

I love the twist accent in the middle, below the bust.  It falls just perfect for my figure.  The only complaint I have about this dress is that you can see a bit of the serged seam in the twist of the dress at the front.  Otherwise, it is extremely well constructed and I am a seamstress, so I have a very picky eye.  I highly recommend this dress and can’t wait to get some more dresses from Igigi.  I plan to get more for my events, as they fit me very well.

Now it’s your turn! Visit the Igigi website, pick out something fancy for yourself to wear with a Gracie Designs accessory (check out how Jessie paired up her gown with a Gracie  Designs clutch! And of course, Kelley’s sporting a Gracie Designs hairband in the photo at right) and then come back here and leave a comment describing your fashionista choices! We’ll pick one winner on April 7th to receive a $50 Igigi gift certificate! Also, you have 17 other chances to win by visiting the other Weetacon Igigi reviews and leaving comments there too! So much pretty for so little work!

Happy shopping!

  1. I love that color on you, and the dress is fab.

I still want the Misaki dress, but now I’m looking for something that will match the green Gracie headband with the bow, because how cute is that? Obviously I need one in every color, and dresses or skirts to match!

  2. I’ve always wanted to try Igigi but just never did. I love the Gloria Dress in Bordeaux or Sachi in Merlot. I think either would be perfect for a upcoming wedding I have to attend in June!

  3. Snazzy Gracie! I’ve been using my Gracie apron to cook, and the yellow apples just make me so happy!

I’m desperately in love with the Trench Coat in Olive. But sadly it is sold out in my size. *sigh* And it would have looked so good with my sunglasses and scarf.

  4. The clutch was so perfect with that dress! I’m loving the Tres Chic, but I worry that the pattern would clash with the big red floral fabric. I think I’d have to go for a custom request for a clutch/snap pouch in that, because it’s freakin’ GORGEOUS. I *suppose* I could be satisfied with the pencil skirt in black to match my new clutch, but I think I’ll keep shopping, since that thing is calling my name …

  5. OMG, I’m so far ahead of you! I’m so glad you saw me with my clutch while wearing the Estrella dress; it’s perfect!

How did you know I’d be scouring your Etsy shop for stuff to pair with my new fashion?

I scored the “So Talented” dress in turquoise, and am lusting after your teal funky headband for a competent/cute secretary-vibe. I would also love to have the airplane passport cover to look and feel like a jet-setter (the fact that I’m a teacher with no travel budget and can’t have longer than a 25 minute lunch will stay between us).

I am also saving my pennies for a custom-made Nook cover to match one of my new outfits; I’d love it in the black and white swirl so it would go perfect with my new Mosaic dress. You’ll get a message from me soon about it.

  6. i am wearing one of your headbands today, Kelley!

And now I really want the plum Tres Chic to go with my black and white version because there are SO MANY of your cute headbands that I could wear with it!

  7. Thanks ya’ll. And for your info, I had this dress on from 8am to 11pm:
    pack the 2 year old
2 1/2 hours in the car
    unpack my booth for event
    worked event
    pack back up
wine and sushi with a friend
and forgot I was wearing a dress…soo comfy, all day and not a wrinkle in sight!

  8. I have been all over the reviews about how I would love to have the Sachi dress in merlot (and various others), but seeing you in that Tres Chic dress makes me think I’d that one too!!

  9. Love that purple!
I might need a purple version of Tres Chic as well..

  10. I love the Orange Crush snap pouch! I think it’d look gorgeous with the Boulangerie in merlot, which is the same beautiful shade as your dress. Love! Thanks for the chance!

  11. i love the Gianna Dress so cute.

  12. I would rock the house in the L’Amourette with a geometric black and white snap pouch. Vintage silhouette with modern clutch tastiness!

  13. I’d wear the Boulangerie Wrap Dress with the asian umbrella headband.

  14. it’s amazing how everyone looks SO great in the Tres Chic dress. it ust moved to the top of my must-have list.

  15. You look great! I would love to get the Boulangerie for the office.

  16. I love my plum Tres Chic! I’ve got my eye on the Elianne Top in purple or perhaps raspberry flambe to wear to work.

  17. I think the Boulangerie Wrap Dress is lovely. I would wear it to work (and maybe even on a date with my honey!) Though I love the Elianne top, too. So many choices!

  18. You look amazing in that dress! I’m all harrumphy I didn’t get accessories to match my dresses (or dresses that matched my accessories), but can I just say I love my card case? It makes me giggle every time I take it out! (I got the red & black & white glittery girls-in-dresses one – a premonition!)

The more I see it, the more I love that dress, even though I’m not supposed to wear that color purple. But I lurve it.

  19. I’d love to try the Tres Chic in black and white. Or the Sachi. Or most of the dresses, really. I would wear them around the house, to work, to dinner, and to all of those other exciting events on my super full social calendar (not)! I’m crossing my fingers that I win.

  20. Oh, I would wear this headband from Gracie Designs with the Tres Chic dress:

Reversible Fabric Hard Headband in Black and White Mod Dots and Red
