This year Igigi sent me the Vika Dress to review. I really love the fabric; its a silk scarf feel and flows just as well as their other dresses do… that’s one of the things that I love about their dresses, they twirl so nicely. (Also the colors are perfect for me; score!)
This is another empire style waist, which I never in my life have been able to wear…except for the other 4 Igigi empire waist dresses I have – see where I’m going with this? I’m always impressed by the variety shapes and sizes that can wear these dresses. I think the only thing I would change for me is that the black fabric portion could be just a few inches longer or the belt could be a broad one to bridge the little bit of a gap where my waist is.
I think this one is more dressy than the other dresses that I have. The black Francesca (and the blue one as well) are super neutral so that I can either add a sweater or a coat or various bits of jewelry and make it formal or relatively casual. I’m also thinking that this particular dress needs heels but very little jewelery. Perhaps a small shawl if it is cold, but it really doesn’t need anything else as it stands on its own. Low maintenance is good for me.
Last but not least, this dress travels well-as all their dresses seem to do. I had this in a packing cube until I stopped weeping copiously from having to come home from Weetacon (elapsed time 1.5 weeks) and it wasn’t wrinkled. Really, paying the $128 for this dress would be worth it for something that fits me so well and isn’t a prima donna about handling it with kid gloves when I have to travel with it.
Here’s their model (clearly several feet taller than me) in the Vika dress (click to go to the website):

You rocked that dress! I am currently lusting after the Tropical Beauty maxi dress, which I would wear to my nephew’s wedding in June. (It’s likely to be a bit warm for my sweater dress.)
Damn. Wrong email on that previous comment. This one’s correct.
You’re so adorable in general but extra so in that dress.
I’d love the Babette Curvy Dress. I almost never wear jewelry but I’d put a cute clip in my hair to match.
I am like a kid in the candy store with IGIGI. I love the Vika dress in black (almost pulled that one got off of your body). I love the Claudette dress with that sassy little sash of red. I would wear either of these dresses year round. To work, play, out and about.
Great googly, I love this dress. You saw me eyeballing it to see if it was my size, right? If it had been, we might have had an Issue. 🙂
So I guess I would get this one! Because it’d be GREAT for work, with that neckline and some boots and some dangly exotic looking earrings.
I love this dress, you rock in it, and I think I would too! 😉 This one is definitely on my wishlist.
Fred, if this is how good you look out of fleece and gnomes hats, you need to bust out the dresses all the freakin’ time.
I’m in the midst of legging research. Finding a pair that fit me is turning into a Holy Grail quest. So I’d like to try the Stella Leggings. I’d wear them with dresses I feel are a little short right now. Another look I’m going to steal from Wendy.
That dress is so perfect for you, Fred, you look adorable! I really love the Thelma Draped Dress in Coral/Charcoal and the Cora dress. Either would be perfect for work, a party, or attending a wedding!
Fred, you were my runway inspiration — you were like, eh, this is no big thing, you can totally do it, and you were so right. Thank you for that small kindness. 🙂 You look beautiful in this dress, and I am now coveting the Daphne Wrap dress too.
Fred, you look lovely! That dress is so perfect for you! The Daphne Wrap dress in slate and the Daphne wrap dress in print keeps on drawing my eye. Wow – those dresses are so amazing! We have a wedding and a first communion to go to this spring/summer and gosh, a dress like that would need a girl’s night out to celebrate!
Oh, I’d accessorize with a simple necklace and maybe a pair of black patent leather peep-toe shoes.
Beautiful…I love the satin around the bottom. I want, want, want the Daphne Wrap dress to wear with some platform sandals and sparkly jewelry.
Fredlet could not look more adorable 🙂 Well maybe with her kitties at her feet 😉
Loving this dress. I love a wrap dress.
I am dying to get the Angie dress in Lilac for a wedding I have coming up…with some nice heels and some silver jewelry.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
I am in love with the Hayleigh dress in midnight blue.
I love the Kelly Dress in Black. I would accessorize it with a pretty necklace. It work be great to wear to an upcoming wedding. 🙂
I cant stop looking at the Hayleigh dress – in any color. Perfect for work or otherwise.
I think the Nicole dress would be a great, kinda sassy work dress. I’d keep the accessories simple. Maybe some nice earrings and a nice heel.
The fashion show sounds like such fun!
As for me, I’d love the Loren dress! I have gained more weight after the birth of my daughter, and nothing fits right. It’s made me feel very lumpy and unattractive. I need something in a bold color with va-va-voom lines to wear on a date with my husband. (To accessorize, I’d wear the gold earrings and necklace from my wedding. I’m not much of an accessorizer.)
So pretty! I want the Ali Dress, with it’s gorgeous kimono sleeves. Work, church, dates, EVERYWHERE! All I would need to do is add flats and some sparkly earrings!
I actually really like this dress. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Good work dress or going out dress.
Gorgeous dress. I love the vintage floral dress. I think it would be great to wear to a summer wedding or event. I would wear cute wedges and keep the accessories simple.
I’d like the Claudette dress to wear to a music night.
I love the pattern on this skirt, and I can picture the twirl you talk about just from looking at the dress and the smile on your face as you wear it in the picture. It’s lovely on you.
Although I’m relatively new to Igigi, my collection is growing rapidly, and I have a fairly lengthy wishlist. I especially love the Tropical Beauty Maxi Dress and think it would be perfect for a romantic dinner on a destination vacation.
I would buy the gorgeousness that is the Naomi Gown. It is absolutely astounding. I just love it!!! I would wear it to a wedding that I have coming up and would be looking for any occasion, I can to show it off. The colors are so beautiful and it is absolutely romantic and screams elegance.
As for accessorizing, I have these beautiful drop earrings, with diamonds that are similar to the dusty pink color of the skirt, that I think would pair wonderfully. And as well to finish it off, a simple bracelet.
You look beautiful! Every woman I’ve seen in this now looks nice.
Tropical Beauty Maxi Dress is the one I am after and I would wear it everywhere (although seeing how long these dresses are, I’ll have to hem it first!)
Fredlet that dress is amazing on you! I want one! 🙂 (I need more work clothes….)
I would get the Francesca dress in black, pair it with red heels, and die of happiness.
Rainforest Paradise Maxi Dress is what I would choose. Nude sandals, as to not draw attention away from the detailing of the skirt. Pearl drop earrings, and hair in a sleek up-do to compliment neckline and my face shape. I would wear it to a New Year’s Eve event.
I’m in such love with the Samira cocktail dress in the perfect shade of cranberry red, yum! <3 Want to wear that walking down the strip in Vegas this summer 😀
That’s a great looking dress and you look awesome in it. I would go for the Naomi gown. I would accessorize it with sparkly silver sandals, my diamond necklace and earrings. I would curl my hair with soft loose curls and would wear smokey plum shadow on my eyes. And I would wear it to my nephews wedding.
That looks great on you! I think it still works with the flats in the picture. I feel like I need to dress up my Igigi more than I’m really comfortable with as well simply because their clothes are sooooo nice, but they usually work without it. I’m flirting with the idea of the Farrah Jacket in Black. I’d normally never consider a cropped jacket like this for work, but given how well Igigi fits, I bet it’ll look fabulous with my work wardrobe.
I love the skirt portion of this so much that I would totally be okay with slicing off the top part and just wearing the skirt! (not that i’d actually do that to an igigi dress >.>) I would wear this literally everywhere, meow!
Looks even better on you than on the model!
I would so love to have the En Vogue Vintage Polka Dot Dress in black! I’d pair it with a red shrug for a splash of color for work and take it for a night look without the shrug. This would be perfect for summer weddings, graduations, just about anything! I LOVE this dress!!!
I’d wear the Rainforest maxi dress with understated but chic matching accessories to my (also plus-sized) friend’s wedding!!
