Jennette reviews the IGIGI Julianna dress for Weetacon 2013

Disclosure: I received the Julianna dress for free in exchange for an honest review of the garment.

Although I have worn plus-sized clothes for most of my life, I have never been plus-sized on top. Big girls do not always have big boobs, which makes bra shopping difficult for me and causes me to be cautious when ordering dresses online. Most plus-sized dresses are designed for women with a lot on top, so I’m never sure how the top part of a dress is going to drape on my chest (or more likely off my chest).

I was picking up the Julianna dress just a day before I had to wear it at a blogger conference, so I packed dozens of safety pins in my suitcase just in case I’d have to make impromptu alterations before our fashion show. Luckily, I had nothing to worry about! The Juliana dress has a wrap-style top which covered my flat chest without sagging or falling off. The fabric has enough stretch that it would probably flatter a large-chested woman just as well.

I love the kimono sleeves on this dress too because it eliminates any chance of the sleeves being too tight, which is another problem I sometimes encounter when trying on dresses. It’s also an easy dress to throw on over your head and just go. There are no complicated sashes to be tied, and I didn’t even need to unzip the zipper on the side to get into it.

And in a moment of complete serendipity, the dress even matched the drink I ordered that night!

The color looks so pretty on you! I think my favorite Igigi dress right now is the Janus dress – perhaps not special occasion, but for every day work-type things? Looks like it would be so flattering.

That dress looked amazing on you, and I loved the matching drink as well! Right now I love the Doris 2-in-one dress – so cute and it would be perfect for work or play!

I’m loving the Janet Maxi Dress. I don’t even know where I could or would wear it though. I might just wear it around the house to feel pretty and fancy.

So pretty on you!! For a dress, I’d choose the Callie dress to wear on a romantic night out with Joe. I might even wear it to work! However, I’m really lusting after the Ishiko top in raspberry rose.

I would wear the Aubriella dress at a fundraiser or date night with my hubby.

You looked lovely in this dress and I wish they’d had a drink to match mine! I want the Enrica Wrap Dress to wear to work because it is stunning.

You look lovely in this dress. The colour and style suit.
I would rock the Jacqueline 2in1 Dress in Jade. Great dress for either work or works-drinks.

I love love LOVE the Ninelle dress in blue coral. That neckline is amazing and the material looks to flow gorgeously. The color is great for a lot of different skin tones.

I would definitely wear it out to a special dinner date, or I could probably get away with it at work if I needed to be all gussied up for some reason.

p.s. Jennette, I love that pattern — it looks like the sky and earth.

Pretty green… so pretty. And the matching drink, you little minx.

I have been all gaga over the margaux dress… it is so freaking fancy that I would MAKE stuff up to wear it.

It would help in the awsomeification of my wardrobe.

Wait, also? I totally hear you on bust not matching body type. My boobs are not as big as my body type says they should be… that’s what happened with the Skye dress I ordered in a size smaller than I normally wear. I ordered for my bust size and (whah whah <– sad trombone noise) it was like a sausage casing on the rest of me. But bonus? It fit Kari like WHOA.

I think that colour looks amazing on you. I have been looking at the Francesca dress for ages. I just think it’s such a basic LBD and would look great for a dinner out, movie night or dinner with the family. Dress it up or dress it down I would just wear it!
