Shae reviews her Gweneth dress

This year at Weetacon I was lucky enough to receive the Gweneth Draped Dress.  I received the dress for free in exchange for this review (but am free to say what I want).

Shae Gweneth DressOne of the reasons I wanted this dress is I thought it was in the teal/aqua color range I love. The description is “denim navy” but on both my home and work monitors it looks more teal.  The dress isn’t teal at all, it’s a beautiful deep blue, denim is a perfect description for it.

This is possibly the most comfortable dress I’ve ever worn.  The material is really soft and it hangs/drapes so perfectly it almost feels like you’re naked.  I hauled it home literally stuffed into the corner of my suitcase and it came out perfectly wrinkle free.

Usually at work I’m on the casual edge of business casual, but I’m bucking for a promotion that will have more visibility.  I’ve worn it to work since Weetacon and am planning to wear it for my promotion interview.  It’s perfect for work, dressy without being stuffy and so easy to wear.  I’ve never worn a dress with a princess knot before.  It’s very flattering and gives my “old school Lego person” corn silo-shaped body some illusion of curves.  However, I’m a clothes tugger – every time I stand up I tend to adjust my shirt.  Where the knot is on this dress there’s a small hole where the fabric knots into itself. I did notice once that when I tugged at the dress the hole showed enough to give a peek of my skin.  Once I realized that and stopped tugging there were no problems.  I now have two dresses from IGIGI and plan to buy so many more in my future.

You’ve touched on a lot of the things that I love about Igigi as well, Shae – the comfort and easy care.

I think I’d like the Paola Dress for my company Christmas party this year. It’s glamorous but still demure enough to keep bra straps and everything else covered up.

Yes! So comfy, yet so good looking. For a dress, I’d choose the Callie dress to wear on a romantic night out with Joe. I might even wear it to work! However, I’m really lusting after the Ishiko top in raspberry rose.

I would wear the Aubriella dress to a fundraiser or a date with my hubby.

You look lovely in this dress. The rich colour and style suit.
I would wear the Jacqueline 2in1 Dress in Jade. Great dress for either work or works-drinks.

P.S. I already have 1 IGIGI dress I bought for BiL’s wedding last year.

I love your review. You touch on some points that are very important to me, comfort and fit. I had never heard of IGIGI before so thank you for sharing! I would love to try the Thalia Dress. I love the colors and it really looks like it would flatter my body type. I could see myself wearing this to work, church or on a date.

This blue is fantastic on you! xox
I have been all gaga over the margaux dress… it is so freaking fancy that I would MAKE stuff up to wear it. Why yes, I have tea at 4:30 on a Monday in sequins. Don’t you?
It would help in the awsomeification of my wardrobe.

I love that dress on you. My current drool-worthy items on Igigi include the Bassa and Phyllis maxi dresses, which I would maybe wear for my birthday…or just anywhere because they’re so pretty.

So hard to find a comfy dress, most aren’t cut for comfort. I love the Riley…red polka dots, sigh!

That dress looks really comfortable. My favorite dress for a night out is the Leigh Lace Dress in Black Iris. I think it’s gorgeous and would love to own it someday!

It’s great that this dress is so versatile for you and comfortable. What a pretty color on you. I like all of the dot dresses but I would like the Riley or Doris.

That colour is just amazing on you. I own a few Igigi dresses and honestly they just know how to work with a plus sized woman’s figure and make you feel like a million bucks. I love the Royal Ambrosia dress and think it would be the perfect dress for my 20th high school reunion.

Cute! I am really loving the Katie dress. I think it could work great for a night out, or even to work during the warmer months.

My dress pick would be the Aubriella, I’d wear it on my days off. Especially if it’s as comfy as the Gweneth!

I hope your promotion interview went well!

I want the Stella for my vow renewal.

I like that this dress could either be dressed up or down depending on the occasion!

I’ve got a hankering for the Rachelle Lace Dress in Black/Rouge! It’d go perfect with my hair for a birthday dinner! 🙂
