How To Register
ONCE REGISTRATION OPENS ON NOV 1 you can either use Paypal (Weetabix at gmail dot com) or send a paper check via mail (email for instructions). Registration must be received by February 1, 2012 (or before the capacity cap is reached), but we will put forth our best efforts to accommodate late registrations. Similarly, we will refund 100% of your registration up until Feb 1, after which we will refund any funds that have not already gone to secure the bus, sleighs or food.
Round Up!
The beauty of our little gathering is that we all come from different backgrounds, culturally, religiously, and socio-economically. For years, several Weetacon angels have been rounding up their registration fees (by five, ten, thirty dollars or so) to contribute to the “Weetacon Tribal Fund.” This fund is an extension of our open door policy and helps cover registration for attendees in need. The “leave a penny take a penny” concept has helped at least one person every year (and often more than one). The Tribal fund is administered by and under the discretion of Wendy Bix and both the donors and the beneficiaries of said fund are completely confidential, with the exception of one trusted adviser who is on copy of all emails and donations as well as has line of sight on the financial spreadsheets.
While chipping in to help your fellow attendees is not tax deductible, any funds that are not disbursed will be donated to Paul’s Pantry in the name of the people who rounded up (percentages of total remaining funds, for tax purposes).
Registration Cap
“The more the merrier” is totally in the spirit of Weetacon, but due to the logistics of moving and feeding a large number of people, we’ve come to the conclusion that 44 people is a happy number for many reasons: our host hotel only has 28 rooms in total, the coach bus fits 44 people and one soda cooler and I hesitate to overburden June by asking her to cook for a huge number of people. Plus, this way the group is not so large that it is impossible to talk to everyone but large enough that we could hold our own in a gang fight (should it come to that). When we hit the attendance cap and you haven’t registered but still want to come, you’re welcome to come to Green Bay and hang out with us during the times when we’re not involved in things covered by the registration (for instance, lunch on Saturday!) and we’ll happily put you on the wait list for all the fun events!
Unlike previous years, however, we will NOT be increasing the attendance cap beyond 44 people.
Hi, will pay Steve if need be.
I thought my lovely wife Sarah registered me. I shall be coming to Weetacon as it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
