June reviews the IGIGI Bardot plus size dress

Disclosure: IGIGI was kind enough to offer us free garments in exchange for honest and heartfelt reviews. My views are my own and now so is the Bardot dress.

June IGIGI Bardot plus size dressI am such a fan of the IGIGI line. The garments are always well-constructed and incredibly flattering. I am fortunate to have many IGIGI dresses in my closet because once you find a winner, you tend to trust that store to deliver beautiful dresses.

Right away, my eyes were drawn to the Bardot dress. I love that it’s almost like a little black dress, but then has a splash of unexpected scarlet hombre detail, going from darkest to brightest at the bottom.

The dress is fully lined and has a nice full skirt. The fabric of the skirt is more sheer, almost like a crinkled chiffon, although it’s much thicker than a chiffon. The top portion of the dress is a different fabric, more of a stretchy material that is very comfortable and leaves you free to move your arms around (I hate it when dresses make you feel constricted). You can see that I’ve pushed up the three-quarter length sleeves for this photo and it’s very comfortable. The high waistband is also this stretchy material so it sits very flattering.

This is another of those dresses that seems impossible to wrinkle, so I plan on taking it with me on our next trip to Mexico. While I’m retired now, this dress has a modest neckline that would be totally appropriate in an office setting or at an event where you didn’t want to show off the girls.

I was fortunate enough to visit the San Francisco design house during our trip in June 2010 and got to see their quality assurance and incredible design process up close. It was pretty impressive!

My one wish is that the garments didn’t need to be dry cleaned. It can get expensive! However, the nice people at IGIGI are going to give one lucky commenter on this review a head start with a free $50 gift certificate.
