The planned schedule of events for the Weetacon 2022 Family Reunion is entirely subject to change based on vendor availability, weather conditions, and other unforeseeable circumstances.
Friday September 23
2 pm-4:30 pm Registration.
All registered attendees must provide proof of updated COVID vaccination status and will take a rapid test before being checked in, no exceptions. We ask that you do not hug or have unmasked conversations with any attendees until you have received a name tag, signaling that you’re all tested and vaxxed.
5:30 pm Bad Barge cruise
Launching from Leicht Park (Near Trainyard Brewery/old Titletown Brewery across river near Main Street Bridge). Walk over or catch a ride from another attendee.
Riders must be 21 or over and may bring with them four alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages in 12 oz aluminium cans or three 16 ounce alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages in aluminum cans. Glass is prohibited on the boat. Coolers filled with ice will be available on board. Weet and Esteban will provide paddle snacks and a selection of tasty beverages onboard but you are also welcome to bring your own. All riders are required by the vendor to sign this waiver, stating that you ride at your own risk.
8 pm – ? Trailgate Party
A raucous mixture of a riverside trail/tailgate party. Come for tailgate eats, tasty bevs and a roaring good time in the back lot of St. Brendan’s. If you can, please bring lawn/folding chairs or blankets to sit on the grass.
Saturday September 24
7 am – 12 pm Green Bay Saturday Farmer’s Market
Occurring literally all around St. Brendan’s and closing Washington Street, explore all that autumn has to offer from over a hundred local vendors in this pop-up open air market. Ready made food, homegrown fruits and veggies, crafts, live music and wonderful people watching await you just outside the door to Weetacon HQ. The fun begins at St. Brendan’s all the way up to the Washington/Walnut intersection, winds up Pine Street and into the parking lots with food court, yoga instruction and demonstrations.
12 pm – 6:30 pm Bay Beach Amusement Park
Visit Green Bay’s amazing 125-year-old treasure, Bay Beach Amusement Park. Subsidized by the parks department, this is a permanent amusement park with no admission fee and ride tickets are all 25 cents (most adult rides require 2 tickets, none more than 4 tickets). If you’ve ever dreamed of the perfect lakeside amusement park with NO CARNIES (just suntanned college kids working summer jobs of running the Ferris Wheel) and riding every ride at least five times without breaking the bank, this place is for you. There are gentle rides, little kid rides, scary/thrilling rides and everything in-between, plus bumper cars, a legit wooden roller-coaster and a perfect tiny replica of a train that you can sit in and ride! And if amusement parks aren’t your thing, there’s an incredible canopy of trees, the roar of the Bayshore and a gorgeous walking path to explore, along with a historic wooden pavilion where FDR and JFK each addressed the city.
We’ll have our own open-air shelter, filled with great eats, fresh bratwursts (both carnivore and vegan) and pineapple fluff and a host of other interesting munchies, as well as group hangout time and people watching just on the margin of the amusement park.
7:30 -11:30 pm Private riverside reception at Eileen’s loft apartment community room
Eileen is opening up her deluxe high-rise riverside luxury retirement digs and hosting us in her community room and outdoor riverside patio. We’ll have “hearty” snackage, dranks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), two Corsi-Rosenthal air filtration machines going inside and an entire huge riverside open air patio along the Fox River Trail all to ourselves.
