Founded in 2006, Half Acre Brewery (the company) is still not old enough to drink, but its beers certainly are. Existing in a tiny storefront space in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago, Half Acre is known worldwide and has the enviable problem of more demand than they can supply, making some of the limited edition brews disappear quite quickly. This is the second of two prize packs that will give you a sample of Half Acre’s varied and considerable charms. In a vague attempt to differentiate to the two prize packs, this one has been dubbed the Drinks for Darker Says. Heavy tastes for heavy snows, heavy cold, and heavy moods.
You get: a four-pack of Half Acre’s year-round brew, Over Ale, a right-on-the-money brown ale that is Chris’s favorite of the year-round brews, as well as two 22 oz. bombers: Tomten Winter Ale, and Hearths Ablaze Stout. As a bonus, you’ll get a limited edition print to promote Half Acre’s gone-in-a-heartbeat Imperial Stout, Big Hugs. This is the four year of Big Hugs in a row, and the poster features the misunderstood kitty-monster’s most fearsome match-up yet: Big Hugs vs. MechaHugs!
