When Cincinnati native Ben Feinberg-Gerner returned to Ohio in 2014 after a period spent in wine education and sales in California, he found himself dreaming once again of chocolate work. Years before, while at the Culinary Institute of America, Ben became the first Culinary Arts student to successfully petition to take the Baking & Pastry Arts program’s Chocolate and Confections class, where he studied under Chef Peter Greweling. Gifts to friends and family quickly became chocolate-based, made to varied soundtracks blaring in his kitchen.
The joy of crafting chocolates while jamming out to his favorite artists meant one thing: The Jammery had been born. Ben knew it was time to join the city’s culinary renaissance and start his own boutique chocolate company.
Today, The Jammery focuses on handmade chocolates and confections that blend the classics with the unexpected. Each and every item is made by hand and from scratch, using local and organic ingredients whenever possible. Ben believes that sweets should be as beautiful as they are delicious, that the pursuit of pleasure—even one bon bon at a time—is necessary, and that everyone should live a little bit sweeter.
