Rehab 2013, spanning the weekend of October 11-13, 2013. All past Weetacon attendees are welcome.

Rumored Attendees

Hotel

Accommodations, as with all Rehabs, are up to you. However, Wendy did score a great group rate at St. Brendan’s Inn… the home of Weetacon proper is happy to have our returning Weetacon Rehabbers back at the same great Weetacon rate that we’ve enjoyed for the last decade. Caveat: We do NOT have the entire hotel at our disposal but I booked as many as I could (only 16 rooms) which will be held in a room block until October 1. When those are gone or after Oct 1, you’re on your own.

Schedule

In the air. Rehab is very much a Choose Your Own Adventure, which means that if you want to do something with friends, shout it out and make it happen but watch this space for more group events to come. Otherwise, this is the loose plan that Wendy has devised that you can opt in and opt out of as you see fit.

Thursday

  • Small group outings/Arrivals
  • Bowling at Dykesville Bowl, home of the world’s most orgasmic cheese curds
  • Beer tasting/tour followed by dinner at Hinterland Brewery

Friday

  • Small group excursions to lower Door County. Although we can’t possibly hit all of this, some of us will be hitting the following:
    • Parallel 44 Winery
    • Door 44 Winery
    • Simon’s Creek
    • Von Stiehl Winery
    • Door County Winery
    • Red Oak Winery
    • Bay Trading Company architectural salvage/antiques
    • SO MUCH FUDGE GET IN MY MOUF
    • Lunch at Skalawag’s in Algoma (Possibly the only dive bar with 5 star cuisine in the entire world)
  • Dinner at S.A.L.T.
  • Karaoke

Saturday

  • Walk to Green Bay Farmer’s Market 7 am – 12 noon
  • Lunch TBD
  • ESTECON! (Offsite secondary event celebrating the health of one of the best guys we know)

 Sunday

  • Brunch TBD
  • Small group outings
  • Departures (so long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye)

Why are non-Weetacon alums excluded?

Well, they’re not, really. Unlike Weetacon, a Rehab weekend’s social events are dictated by individuals rather than a common schedule and as such, the responsibility of being included on outings falls 100% on the participants. To be blunt, newbies would need to be ok with not only meeting new people but inserting themselves into pre-established groups of friends. It’s certainly been done before with great success (just ask Jane and Chad), but not everyone is comfortable with that level of socialization. Does that sound intimidating? Then save your enthusiasm for Weetacon, which is designed to help people get to know each other!
