You’ve certainly heard of Gracie Designs, the Etsy superstar. We were fortunate to have an exclusive Gracie Designs trunk show at Weetacon this year, and got first dibs on the adorable accessories, purses and hats (it’s actually a game to go through the Weetacon Flickr Pool and play “Spot the Gracie Designs Accessory” because practically everyone nabbed a hat, purse, scarf or all of the above).  Kelley, the lady behind Gracie’s amazing patterns, just happened to be a perfect fit for an extra dress that didn’t have a home, and was gracious enough …

Wendy let us know that if we agreed to write a review, we could pick out a piece of Igigi fashion to wear at Weetacon which was then ours to keep. I saw Igigi fashions at the previous Weetacon and they looked to die for. So, even though I’m not a dress up kind of a person, it sounded too good to pass up. I wasn’t even daunted by Wendy’s idea of doing a fashion show. I dutifully sent in my first, second and third choices to Wendy and crossed …

Before I get to what you are most interested in — a review of a delightful IGIGI dress and the chance to win a $50 IGIGI gift certificate — please indulge my brief stand on the soapbox.
As we know, beauty does not come in any particular shape or size.  But, borrowing an apt phrase from Dorothy Parker, the images we see in fashion magazines and the popular media run the gamut of shapes and sizes from A to B.  Those images are frequently unhealthy and, for …

Weetacon 7 has come and gone but I have a couple of incredible souvenirs thanks to Yuliya Raquel and the magic she stitches into her beautiful clothing.  I decided to tone down my choices this year, and rather than go for the cocktail dress, go for a dress I could wear to work.   I must say that turned out to be an excellent decision.
I wore the Tres Chic dress my first day back to the real world with black stockings and a high heel oxford shoe.  Tres chic?  How about …

Cari is our resident local karaoke expert and has been with Weetacon since the first year. She jumped at a chance to review some Igigi garments and also, field tested them by working our karaoke party in her Masterpiece top that very night.
Vicenza Top

I received many compliments on this top but I have to say, it fell outside of my comfort zone.
The lace is very beautiful and flattering, but the cross-over front just didn’t sit right. I tried it straight across the left breast, completely covering the left breast and …

While we were up in the Frozen North communing with the Tribe, the lovely Weetabix arranged for us to have a fashion show of items from IGIGI. It was loads of squealy girly fun (even including changing in an unheated stairwell; I really felt like a fashion model although next time, I’m bringing a dressing-assistant!)
Initially Her Weetitude had asked us for our top three picks and sizes/colors in each, so as to give the lovely Igigites some hope of finding options for each of us in our size.  Imagine my …

When Wendy told us of our little Weetacon fashion show, the high pitched squee I emitted was probably heard by the dogs of the greater Green Bay area, but seriously, if you were just told you’d get to rock some awesome fashion AND be in a fashion show in a load of gorgeousness, wouldn’t you be excited to the point of hyper-squee? Of course you would. I can only say that my fellow models were shocked beyond belief and that’s why I was so freaking loud and crazy …
